 [Rila 1998] | This picture was made on our way to one of the most beautiful and enchanted places in my country - the Seven Rila Lakes... Many people want to visit the Seven Lakes, but only few of them are not afraid of the long way to them. The Lakes are situated high in the mountain where you can go with no vehicle, but only walking... |
 [Rila 1998] | The names of the Lakes are Dolnoto Ezero (the Down Lake), Ribnoto Ezero (the Fish Lake), Bliznaka (the Twin), Trilistnika (Three-leafed), Babreka (the Kidney), Okoto (the Eye) & Salzata (the Tear Drop). The lake behind me is Babreka and is about 200 meters away from me. The picture was made from the highest lake - Salzata... |
 [Rila 1998] | There are long distances among some of the lakes. For example, we had to walk about half an hour on a sheer slope to move from Babreka to Okoto. Okoto (the lake behind me and my sister Billy) is the deepest and the most beautiful one... |
 [Rila 1998] | rom the highest lake Salzata can be seen all the rest six lakes. Unfortunately it's impossible to cover all of them in one picture. This picture is the best one we could make. When the weather is clear you can see on a great distance. The view is magnificent!! You have the feeling that you are at the top of the world. Everything bellow looks so small. The hut we slept in is on the bank of Ribnoto Ezero and can't be seen as a small dot on this picture. |
 [Rupite 1998] | This picture was made in the Pirin mountain, in one very unique place called Rupite. The church behind us is very untraditional and was built some years ago, sponsored by the famous Bulgarian prophet Vanga. As she said, this church is for everybody, no matter of the religion. Vanga died soon after the church was completed and was burried in it's yard. Many people wanted the Bulgarian Ortodox Church to canonize her as a saint. |
